Description
Unfortunately the garage currently used to keep her will soon be turned into a “granny flat “ which means she will require storage- that will take away my privilege of driving her the few times per year This is a reluctant sale however, if there’s a genuine interested person who will give the vehicle what it deserves I will give a considerable discount- that’s face it , I’ll need to provide transportation to her next home etc The brief history of your Model A. It was manufactured in Canada and shipped in knock down form to NZ. I can't remember when it was first registered in NZ but it was 1930. It was restored sometime in the 1970's I believe and went through several owners. It belonged to a headmaster of a large school near Wellington and he did lots of trips all over NZ and kept a note book of mileages, mile driven etc. He sold it to an American History professor from New York who drove it around the South Island. A Mr Lange. He called her Rosinante which was the name of the donkey in the story Don Quixote. The donkey was never scared and never gave up. John Thynne bought it from him, site unseen and had it shipped to the UK along with a Model A roadster belonging to Mr Lange who had decided to set up home in Wales. John put a new motor in it in 1995, built at Belcher engineering. It had original yellow wheels all through my ownership. Not sure why they changed them to black. The car has recently had a FULL overhaul and service , all with original Ford parts , new horn , new chrome front pumper , new front floor , and temperature gauge fitted. , completely rewire in 2024 again using genuine Ford wiring looms. New battery and new stainless steel exhaust. The car is well known within the Model A club UK The car is approaching 95 years old , so please do not expect to see a show room condition vehicle! However she is lovely !! Quite rare Right Hand Drive
