Let me introduce you to Bruno. He is named after the designer who knows best how to make a Mercedes look like a Mercedes - Bruno Sacco!
Bruno is 24 years young, with just the right amount of muscle to make you smile and create memories every time you get behind the wheel.
He is a true friend, who you can depend on thanks to his excellent mechanical health and the bulletproof and powerful 3. 2 litre M112 engine, which a Mercedes enthusiast will know that it can be found in literally every Benz from the era.
In 2022, on a lovely Saturday afternoon in July, I became the 4th owner of Bruno and since then it has been pure pleasure and happy moments which I will cherish always. I did my first car related article on him too, that's how much he inspired me!
Here is my article: - details above
He has been a daily driver on and off since then, but not all the time as his other friends in my stable want my attention as well and they have to get their exercise regularly in order to keep everyone happy.
His mates are Hercules, a CLS 500 powered by the 5. 0L M113 and Cerberus, a slightly modified 3 litre BMW E46, along with the more sensible from the stable - a W204 estate named Hans.
They will be sorry to see him go just as I will, and this is why I have to make sure Bruno goes to someone who will treat him with the same love and respect as I have and he deserves.
Since I found and got him, he has had quite a few things done to him, and me having had so many old BMW's, I rely heavy on preventative maintenance as opposed to fixing things when they go wrong, which is always the right way of treating a vehicle (at least in my world).
First and foremost, I cleaned all the drainage holes around the car with a trombone cleaner in order to allow any water to flow freely and avoid any flooding - this is done every spring and autumn.
All the rubbers and seals are treated every 3 months with Gummi Pfledge, which is essential for any hard-top convertible to be water proof and it keeps the rubber nice and flexible. Windscreen wiper mechanisms have been cleaned and re-lubed to ensure smooth operation. He also has a high quality cover which was supplied to me by the previous owner.
In the summer of 2024, I had PSL tuning remove the silencer and fabricate everything and install a new stainless steel exhaust tip and I fell in love all over again, when I heard the M112 symphony, I was in euphoria!
The AMG back box will come with him if the noise is too much, but there is no drone and the soundtrack is epic - it comes close to a VQ engine found in Nissan 350Z/ 370Z, but with more grunt and less raspy sound.
Currently Bruno needs his driver side headlight lens to be taken off and the seal to be replaced. A genuine Mercedes seal will be supplied by me. The weather is too cold now for me to fiddle with 24 year old plastic, hence why it is still not replaced, but it is extremely simple to do as the lens comes of of the headlight unit. He would also need the rear tyres to be replaced, even though he still has traction thanks to the Rainsport 5 tyres, their only downfall is that they are too soft, hence can barely go over 15000-20000 miles. He also has lacquer peel as seen in the photos and small rust spots which I do my best to keep under control.
I can take apart any car, motorcycle or engine and put it back together in no time, especially Mercedes and BMW, but when it comes to bodywork (painting or fabricating) I stay away... I have tried it in the past and I am just not cut to do such things, even with mentorship from professionals.
I cannot justify further expenses towards Bruno at the moment as I need to free up more capital quick! - I am in the process of buying a house at the moment and I have 4 cars and children planned to join us in this world. I only need 3 cars and Bruno being a 2 seater leisure oriented vehicle needs to go to another loving family.
Bruno will come with a massive folder of service history, invoices and photos and I will give a comprehensive guide on how to properly take care of him to the new custodian and will be happy to stay in touch to help in future. Every car I sold in the past has gained me friends, not buyers, which still stay in touch because of the relationships I build with every car I have ever had.
I would love to have a chat to anyone having interest in Bruno, so do not hesitate to call me and ask anything about him.
