Volvo PV544 1961 3. 5 Litre Rover V8. This is a really stunning car in beautiful condition. Imported from Sweden in 1994 and all work carried out between 2014 and 2017 to a very high standard.
Re-painted in it's original colour 10 years ago and still looks stunning especially with the louvered bonnet and towel rail bumpers.
The engine was fully rebuilt and upgraded with SD1 cylinder heads, 3 core radiator with twin electric cooling fans, Edelbrock 500cfm 4 barrel carburettor and inlet manifold. The twin exhausts giving the perfect V8 soundtrack and admired wherever she goes.
The gearbox was also fully rebuilt and upgraded to the stronger BW65 automatic gearbox with oil cooler.
The rear axle was also fully rebuilt including a new crown pinion and wheel. Ratio 3. 07:1.
Upgraded to Volvo Amazon servo assisted front disc brakes and suspension with power assisted rack and pinion steering. Drives like a modern car.
The original factory interior is in beautiful unmarked condition. No holes, tears or marks and is testament to the care received over the years.
Recently fitted new carpets throughout, full oil and filter service front to back including all new ignition equipment.
New battery just fitted.
This car runs beautifully and is a pleasure to drive with all gauges and switchgear working as it should including the
excellent Blaupunkt period radio.
Matching Firestone radial tyres in excellent condition.
Twin spotlights.
Correctly registered on V5.
All spares readily available from Brookhouse Volvo in Ipswich.
Sounds lovely when driving and to the best of my knowledge this is the only V8 PV544 in the country and possibly Europe, I can't find another. This is a car that the new owner will really enjoy driving. A definate for summer shows.
