1981 Ford Fiesta Mark 1 " RESTO SPORT "

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE LISTING VERY CAREFULLY.

This is my absolutely " MINT " show condition mark 1 Ford Fiesta 1. 6cc 5 speed " RESTO SPORT ". A total " one off ".

PLEASE NO TIME WASTERS OR DREAMERS. I WILL NOT ENTERTAIN YOU AT ALL.

This is simply superb all over and underneath & was built by a top chap who specialises in mark 1 Fiesta's over a 5/ 6 year period.

Seeing is believing as the saying goes. Everything on this car is " like new ". A total one off example.

This car has a great & detailed history file FROM NEW to PRESENT DAY & i am ONLY the 3rd owner from new back in 1981. HPi clear, never bashed, crashed or stolen & not recorded on any register. Just a proper genuine rust free loved example making the perfect basis car for what she was to become & now is.

She is NOT an XR2 & she is NOT a Super Sport either albeit you would think she is the latter as she looks more like a Super Sport which was the intention albeit BETTER!!!! using all parts sourced from the Ford RS options catalogue.

I have seen Super Sports advertised online currently for £35000!!!! plus with dealers too.

The logbook has been correctly changed with the DVLA for both colour change and engine size change and she is also TAX & M. O. T exempt HISTORIC class on the logbook which is in my name registered at my home address.

She is what's called a " RESTO SPORT " specially built to as near concour's albeit modified concour's as you would want her to be. Totally mint in every way.

Background history:
The car started life as a humble 1. 1 Ghia 4 speed manual & was owned by a lovely lady & her husband FROM NEW from 1981 - 2011 some 30 years in total & always garaged & dealer serviced & rust proofed from new with regular top ups over the 30 years they owned her spending all its life in Hampshire. The shell has never been welded & still wears all mint original panels. Original dealer number plates, rear window sticker, all 3 original FORD keys & all original locks complete with original bill of sale & all M. O. T certificates & service invoices during ownership are present.

The second owner knew the first owners very well & aquired the car from them with approximately 35000 miles on the clock back in 2011. Being a mark 1 Fiesta expert he used the car sparingly for a few years before firstly carrying out a professional 5 speed gearbox upgrade & then in 2015 he took the car off the road & started his 5/ 6 year custom transformation of the car to what she is today using all NEW SOURCED genuine FORD N. O. S items which he had been storing away for years. THIS WAS TO BE HIS OWN DREAM FIESTA MARK 1 & as Ford should have built it.

Powered by a genuine Ford Fiesta mark 1 XR2 1600cc engine fully rebuilt with a plus 40 thou making her around 1649cc's mated to the also fully rebuilt 5 speed gearbox couple with all new clutch etc etc. The engine bay is immaculate & looks totally stock too which again was the chaps intention. Fully poly bushed suspension with Gaz adjustable's up front, vented & grooved discs etc with upgraded KYB rear suspension set up too & lowered 2 inch all round for that perfect stance look. She drives awesome, sounds awesome & looks awesome too, pulls like a train and drives like she is on rails.

A proper 80's little pocket rocket she is. LOL.

I have completed a FULL service on the car in the last few months & due to the winter weather she is kept securely locked away in my bespoke built heated man cave with my other toys & ONLY ever driven in dry sunny weather while in my ownership albeit started regularly and driven up and down my driveway.

The engine and gearbox were fully rebuilt professionally and have only covered around 5000 miles max and are both leak free and running perfect. A genuine manual choke was fitted too and full electronic ignition fitted too by the chap who built the car.

I have added my own stamp to the car and taken her to the next level of " modified concour's " of which i have had over 40 years successful experience with all my classic cars i have owned and won many trophies with. I am a true enthusiast and have been very lucky to have owned many cars and bikes during the last 4 decades but sadly poor health has forced me to have to sell them all off for now so this is a sensitive sale and the reason i will not entertain messer's or time wasters.

She is also kept on a C-tek battery conditioner all the time to protect the new battery which is also included with the car if the right asking price is achieved.

She is basically a new car all over again albeit BETTER and gets loads of admiring comments at my local classic car meeting ( If the weather is dry ) and i polish her with Autoglym all the time. The bodywork and paint finish is absolutely " Bang on " 100% all over and it shows.

Being retired Army my attention to detail and standards are VERY HIGH and i am well known for this too. LOL.
