Description
An excellent early example of the first type of Norton P11 750 sometimes referred to as the ‘Cheetah’. Developed in the US for desert racing and apparently all production from England was shipped straight to North America for sale, mainly to California. This one has specific features which only appeared on the P11 not on the P11A or P11 Ranger, including high level exhausts, larger 3. 6 gallon tank, solo seat, skimmed hubs, no chainguard and different rear plate mount. Fully restored with a huge number of parts replaced, too many to list. Starts straight away, runs superbly, gearbox, clutch engine, brakes all in top order. Still has the rare original alloy oil tank, most of which broke in racing and were replaced by steel. It was manufactured and exported to the USA on 16 March 1967, confirmed by letter from the Norton Owners Club. Matching numbers 121242. Brought back to England about 10 years ago.
