Description
For sale, my 1960 Austin Healey 3000 Mk 1 BT7.
As confirmed by the heritage trust certificate this car was originally built between 28th October – 1st November 1960 and exported to California, USA where it remained until it was repatriated to the UK.
Re registered as 438 YUE a “full rotisserie” chassis up and full engine restoration was carried out throughout 2010 / 11 by a marque specialist and was photographically documented including a RHD conversion. During the restoration, the prospective new owner collaborating with the restorers elected to have the car built to the BN7 two-seater specification including the different rear bulkhead and boot lid panels.
The restoration was completed February 2012 and the car covered around 2600 miles until it was sold in 2016 to a local to me, British classic car collector. I purchased this car in May 2017 to add to my own classic car and motorcycle collection, it has been used sparingly and on dry days only, having now covered around 3500 miles since the restoration this big Healey looks as fresh today as it did back then. The Ivory white paint has a glassy deep finish and with the red leather interior is a stunning colour combination. The engine bay is extremely clean, well presented and is always a talking point at local car meets. The car benefits from several sensible upgrades including an oil cooler, larger electric fan with the uprated radiator and high torque starter motor. Also included is a full photographic restoration history file, a mohair red tonneau, a black vinyl tonneau, black hood, full wet weather equipment, owner’s manual, sales brochure, Big Healey toolkit and associated jack / wheel removal tools, original serviceable starter motor and British Motor Heritage Certificate production record. A full service, chassis lubrication and electrical check was completed by a local Healey marque specialist this car drives very well with strong engine performance and with the fitted overdrive cruises along in modern traffic beautifully.
I have decided to now downsize my classic car and motorcycle collection due to the lack of use and time to enjoy them all hence the sale.
