1981W Ferrari 400i Automatic.
Ordered by Maranello Concessionaires Ltd sales Director Sean P Bealey on 15th of January 1980 for May production, Finished in Blu Ribot with black hide and carpets, The car was completed and invoiced to Maranello Concessionaires on 4h of July 1980( paperwork present) a pencil note shows it was consigned on a sale or return basis to the new Ferrari agents in Gloucestershire Rosso. By November 1980 it had not been sold and was invoiced to the London Ferrari agents HR Owen who registered JYN 226W to themselves as a demonstrator on 29th of May 1981
The ‘first’ owner was 17 year old director of a shipping company, Mr Vickram Tikko of London bought the car from Jonathan Kaiser of HR Owen following the A service which was carried out in July 1981 at 1100 miles. Whilst in HR Owen’s ownership the car featured on an advertising post card for HR Owen, outside Buckingham Palace, maintenance continued with HR Owen during Mr Tikko’s ownership.
By May 1986 the car had covered 29000 miles and was in the ownership of a ‘ L Freed esq’ of London N9 . Maintenance including a major service was carried out by GTB Motorsport of Northwood.
The car returned to HR Owen in February 1988 for a 6250 mile service and was invoiced to Hold EM Cars(!) Interestingly the car became the property of Mr Ian Day of Kent the month before on 20th January 1988 . Maintenance was carried out by the Ferrari agents Modena Engineering Ltd of Surrey which included another major service checking/ adjusting valve clearances as well as fitting a new timing chain in June 1989 at 44659 miles. In mid 1990 David Wells Restorations of Croydon carried out a body restoration which took 251 hours and cost £5738. 00
The last owner 47 year old Mr Patrick Boxall then of Middlesex bought the car from AR Cars of Leytonstone with 48000 miles on 30th of January 1991 were it joined 5 other cars in the collection , including an E type and a 1958 Chevrolet Corvette, the car was used sparingly however in 2005 it went Colin Clarke Engineering at 49126 miles for a comprehensive service and check over with 2 bills one for £3793. 32 and another for £7396. 52 including the fitment of a complete stainless exhaust and manifolds..

The car remained in a heated garage until recently with the engine being turned and brakes kept free on a regular basis.
This lovely well maintained 400i has just been the subject of a £4000-00 service , check over and recommissioning by Steve Moody of SMDG. Mileage 49300
And is now ready for its next custodian.
The car coms complete with fresh MOT , original handbook and comprehensive file of history.
