A fantastic opportunity to add to your collection this 1964 R/ H Drive Morgan 4/ 4 Series V Competition Roadster, made in Malvern England never restored with a charming patina, and matching numbers. Original leather interior with a twin seat (split bench style) configuration, untouched Ash wood frame/ parts, and largely original paintwork. Unique Competition Model, one of only 270 pieces produced with the in-destructible Ford 4 cylinder OHV 1498cc as fitted to the Ford Consul, Corsair, and Anglia to name a few back in the day. The Engine has been Factory/ professionally tweaked/ designed and tuned to obtain an impressive 83. 5 BHP with a twin port Weber Carburettor, manifold spaghetti, and tachometer giving it a turn of speed capable of zipping through the country lanes and chicanes at breakneck speed. Special equipment fully Synchronised 4-Speed with Morgan remote competition gear selector. Comes with the Original brochure, and a 1964 sales advert taken from "Autosport" magazine, September 1964 edition Priced at £775 back in the day. Soft top, Hood, tonneau, side windows, along with racing Aero split windscreen half moons and much more. Overall splendid appearance with a patina paint work consummate to its age (60 years)... Nice piece of motoring history having spent time in both Sweden and Georgia USA before returning back to Blighty in the mid-teens (2014) as far as one can make out, so has seen quite a bit of the world one would say together with appearing more recently in an episode of the BBC Celebrity Antiques Road Trip where Celebrities drive around in classic cars whilst chasing hidden gems in Antiques shops to take to auction up and down the Country. Driven by "Men Behaving Badly" star Neil Morrissey view pictures. Neil is stood with JJ Charmers ex Royal Marine and TV host a brave man who is an inspiration that's why I'll be giving a donation to the Royal British Legion from this sale! So the car has had an interesting life up till now and is waiting for its next adventure! One might say has seen the world and has been around a bit! The Chassis and Ash frame is in good order... A better, and improved handbrake for the Automotive Hill climbing Sport in mind (a marked improvement to the factory fitted wing and a prayer hand brake which can be swopped back) modern inertia reel seat belts. The chrome wire wheels were a factory extra according to an original 1964 advert with a price tag of £39, 5 shillings, and 5 pence in old money! A Series V with the following Factory/ specialist as listed in sales info of the time! Engine modifications: compression ratio raised to 9-1. Special camshaft. Weber dual choke downdraught Carburettor, 4 branch exhaust spaghetti manifold, and alterations to valves, ports and combustion chamber shape, giving 83. 5 BHP at 5, 200 r. p. m. A revolution counter of the impulse type is also fitted. Speed 95-100mph.
