I am the 4th owner the previous owner had it for 7 years. I am a member of the Porsche owners club and the car is eligible for the Porsche Classic scheme. The car has an extensive service history, including 100+ point review from Porsche shortly after I bought it from a 911 specialist, RSJ Sports Cars after a long search for the perfect 911. It has a clear MOT with no advisories and its next service is due in August or in 15, 000 miles if you follow Porsche’s service interval recommendations.
I added a wooden 917 style gear shifter. I have the original in a box so the car can be returned to stock easily if you wish. I am selling it as the wooden gear shifter has given me a hankering for a Morgan, I mention this in case anyone is looking for a change in the opposite direction.
The care drives perfectly. It is the last generation of car to have both normal fuel injection and hydraulic steering which gives it a very engaging character, plus greater reliability over the later direct injection models. It also benefits from a stronger IMS bearing addressing rare failures that affected some earlier models. Naturally it has effortless power and the flat 6 3. 8 ltr engine sounds excellent, however the most surprising aspect of it is how well it rides due to the lighter weight hollow forged Turbo alloys and the adjustable suspension. The tyres are Pirelli P Zeros with very little wear having covered about 3, 500 miles.
I live near Keswick in the Lake District. If you are coming to see the car then I am happy to pick you up at Penrith station which is convenient for anyone coming up from the midlands or the south. I enjoyed photographing the car which is always garaged and is used on nice days.
Happy to have a chat about the car if you've any points you want to discuss. Open to sensible offers. Immaculate well maintained car that took me a long time to find. It is a wrench having to sell it to make space in my garage for a Morgan. It's a very engaging car to drive and the sunroof is very far forward on these cars so you actually appreciate the open air and improved views which is great when meandering through the hills in the Lake District, better still if you take it to the Alps.
