Description
Owned by my late father, an active member of the Lancia Motor Club for 40+ years, the car appears on the owner's register.
I have a bill of sale from 1944 to Wing Commander Wilfred Bowes (search Wilfred Bowes on Wikipedia) and a huge binder of history and restoration work undertaken by my father and previous owner.
The car retains original plate CUE 126.
It is a 1938 car, and does have some wear as you would expect of a vehicle that was in regular use until his passing 4 years ago.
3 previous owners on the log book / V5.
34, 661 miles on odometer, from the MOT history it appears my father put around 13, 000 of those miles on the car since he purchased it in around 2004.
It starts on the key every time and runs very well; new 6v battery.
An electronic fuel pump was fitted to improve running, but original pump parts are available, along with a small selection of spares.
5 wheels are present, with hub caps. When it was released, it was a truly groundbreaking car, with independent suspension, hydraulic brakes, a V4 engine, and a monocoque body designed in a wind tunnel.
Also capable of 80mph, should you be brave enough.
It's an easy car to drive, starts, and runs very well. It's a usable, easy-to-maintain, and enjoyable classic.
My Father drove it to Turin only 10 years ago - I have photographs of the car at the Turin factory from this trip.
