I am listing my much loved 1968 Volvo Amazon 123gt in very original condition.
These 123gt's are very rare and do not come up for sale often. It has a 4 speed gearbox with electric overdrive that works well. It has the original engine and the number stamped on the block matches the number on the logbook.
I have done a lot of work to it recently at a significant cost.
Here is what I have done:
Bilstein shocks all around with progressive rate springs which are a bit lower than stock from Rob at Amazon cars. This makes it look and handle a lot better while still being drivable.
The whole braking system has been overhauled. New genuine lockheed servo. Brand new brake callipers, new discs, mintex performance pads, new shoes and all pins, clips, springs etc.
New wheel bearings all around.
Rebuilt the diff.
Replaced front and rear main seals.
New clutch.
New rocker cover and sump Gaskets.
Service.
New Kumho tyres recently fitted.
New windscreen rubber.
Replace rusty fender apron on drivers side.
New performance air filters.
Simons sports exhaust system.
The interior presents well for its age with a very good head liner. The original recaro seats that came with the 123gt are generally okay as seen in the photos. If you wanted to make it into a show car they could be replaced. The car has the original rubber style carpet from factory and is worn so could do with replacing.
The paint has blistered in various places and there are various scratches and chips due to its age. Again if you would like to make it into a show car it would need replacing but its good drivers paint. It looks good enough and you don't worry about stone chips etc.
Mechanical it is excellent. Brakes are now fantastic and the car stops superbly.
Car has been professionally polished.
Any questions please ask. The Amazon 123gt is an extremely rare car. Only about 1500 were believed to have been made. Not many are left in this original condition. This car was part of a 40 car collection before it was sold so has survived very well.
This is one of the best driving classics I have driven. Very torque engine for its size with a lovely gear shift and gearbox.
