Description
The only known Sana GL left in the UK.
The GL was a UK specific model created by the importer, with alloy wheels, bodykit and a centre console amongst other things.
I rescued this car from a garage where it had been sat for 21 years with a clutch issue. It has been recommissioned and passed its MOT last year with no advisories.
The car is in great original condition and has not been restored. There was some damage at some point on the rear right corner which has been repaired with what I assume is DIY skills. There are a couple of areas of paint which are not perfect.
The alloy wheels could do with a refurb but I have fitted new Falken tyres for safety.
Interior is nice and clean but is missing a couple of minor trim items. All GL spec parts are present and correct.
Currently there is one issue with the car and that is a failed speedometer cable. I am trying to source one from Serbia at the moment but also have a selection of Fiat ones to try.
Brakes are not brilliant but stop the car fine - possible just needs another bleed.
The Clutch release bearing is noisy at idle. This car is rare and turns heads wherever it goes - usually to puzzled faces and the question 'what is it?'
I took this to the Festival of the Unexceptional in 2024 and barely got a chance to walk away as so many people wanted to talk about it.
It drives great (takes a while to warm up), and has done 200+ mile trips with ease
Getting parts for servicing is fine as it's Fiat derived, but sourcing other bits is trickier - there is a small but great network of other Yugo owners who are only too happy to help
