2013 Mercedes-Benz G350d - G Wagen / G Wagon

This 2013MY G350d is one of the first final-gen W463s made; the car was registered on 28th Sep 2012 by Mercedes-Benz South-West and - being specified in such an unassuming and timeless way - is a very unique example in today’s world. This is another car from our own collection, having been owned and used by us for the past 17 months. We spent a long time searching for the right specification G-Wagen, for us it had to have the following: a proper colour (ie not Black, White or Silver); narrow wheel arches with no bodykit (most are AMG-style); high-specification interior options; and most importantly, clear glass all-round. We were extremely fortunate to stumble across this car, as it had only 37k miles and had never fallen into the wrong hands, unlike most!

The car was ordered new from Mercedes-Benz South-West by an elderly gentlemen, who owned it from new until his passing in February 2023. The ownership subsequently passed to his wife, who then sold the car on to the owner of a manor house in Northern England, which is where we found it in October 2023. It had been serviced each year by an ex-Mercedes mechanic at a private garage for the majority of its life, with a completely full service book. Once we took ownership, we started searching for a set of wheels to compliment the rugged-but-civilised looks of the G-Class. We purchased a set of OZ Racing ‘Rally Raid’ wheels and had them powder coated in MB Silver with the OZ Racing decals lacquered-in as factory (the original wheels are also available if required). We also had the gearbox serviced by an MB specialist in Nov 2023 and a large-scope service was carried out by Mercedes-Benz Tonbridge in May 2024 at 40, 000 miles.

Today, the mileage stands at just 44, 000 miles with the car remaining in excellent condition. The Tanzanite Blue metallic paint is totally original, corrosion-free and has only a couple of marks to show for its age and mileage (photos and details can be sent on request). The door shuts are perfect and the body is totally arrow-straight down the sides, as it should be on a car of this calibre. The designo Black leather interior is in is similarly excellent condition and is difficult to fault, the only mark we have spotted is an indent on the driver’s door card. Importantly, the driver’s seat bolster and associated stitching are in very good condition and not flattened or shiny like most. The underside of this G-Wagen is a testament to the build quality of these cars and a big reason why they retain their values so well. We struggle to find a single spot of corrosion underneath, and the factory protective coatings are still present over the entirety of the undercarriage.
