Description
Here we have my 1962 Triumph TR4 with overdrive. She's a UK home market, matching number car, finished in British Racing Green with black interior and carpets. She has had a full body off nut and bolt restoration completed summer 2023 and has only travelled 400 dry miles since then, and at all other times, always been garaged, cosseted and admired.
Absolutely everything has been done to her that can be done, and as you will see, the photographs will hopefully speak for themselves.
As well as the full mechanical restoration, the body was also fully professionally restored, with a full back to bare metal paint finish, and is in as good a condition underneath as the paint finish is on top.
The Chassis was also jig checked, galvanised, then finished in chassis black paint, before the refurbished running gear was fitted using all new bushes, bearings, pipes hoses, brakes etc.
The engine was fully rebuilt, with additional extras being, ground and balanced crankshaft and flywheel, and the head skimmed and modified to run on unleaded petrol.
Rebuilt gearbox and overdrive, with overdrive in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, so effectively giving 7 gears.
Rebuilt differential etc, etc.
All the recommended upgrades have also been installed to the car during the restoration, with some highlights being,
Aluminium radiator,
Revotec Temperature adjustable electric fan.
Upgraded alternator,
Narrow belt conversion,
Brake servo added,
Electronic ignition,
Aluminium fuel tank,
Full new wiring loom,
Even down to an emergency bonnet release, just in case!
All five wheels have been painted in old English white, with four chrome hubcaps and Triumph enamel centres, fitted with new Continental tyres, and she's crowned with a new softop.
An aftermarket leather steering wheel is fitted just now, but the original is with the car.
The list could go on and on, and as you would appreciate with a full comprehensive restoration like this she has a leather bound portfolio with engraved plaque showing registration and CT number containing her history going back to 1985.
I also have available, driving video and walkrounds of exterior, boot area, under bonnet and engine running for genuine enquiries.
I've priced her for a firm £25k. I know she's worth a lot more, but I would like to get into Lotus Elite Type 14 ownership, so she'll go, as well as one of my other cars to hopefully get me there.
This could be the best, if not, one of the best Tr4's out there, offered at a realistic price considering the market just now.
Please contact me if genuinely interested for further information, photos, videos etc.
