Description
VW Beetle
K Reg Aug 1971 - Jul 1972
VW Enzian Blue
1300cc engine converted to 1641cc
Oil change, greasing, valve clearances, points gap, spark plug gaps all completed yearly
Air filter, spark plugs, condensor, distributor cap, rotor arm, points, fuel filter, brake fluid and front brake shoes all changed between June 2023 and December 2024 (in which time car has covered ~1500 miles)
Lanoguard applied to complete underside of car in December 2023 and 2024
New battery in January 2025
Tyres front and rear are approximately 3 or 4 years old, so no sign of rubber degradation, and as the mileage of the car suggests, they are barely worn!
Genuine reason for sale, is that I no longer have enough time to work on this car, and I'd rather not see it go to waste as it's a brilliant Beetle that deserves to be enjoyed and maintained
Car was resprayed in 2022 by the previous owner, and I have meticulously cared for the body work, including clay barring and waxing - so it really does glimmer in the sun. The previous owner had spent a lot of money on the vehicle as a present for his partner, though she'd later admitted she preferred her ragtop ~'63! I have continued in a similar vain, and spared no expense to maintain this car as it deserves
It has been kept in a water tight car port for the duration of my ownership since June 2023, and I have endeavoured to only drive it in the dry
All electricals, including lights, horn, wipers and washer jets, radio and speakers work as intended. Blaupunkt radio fitted includes bluetooth connectivity for audio playback from compatible device
New heat exchangers were fitted only 3 years ago but don't have the heater channels to the cabin fitted - I've never bothered as I just put a coat on! (But the heater channels are easy to come by either used or new)
Car will come with bottles of oil (transmission and engine), and a host of parts including some "nice to have" jobs I intended to do this year
The car had been MOT'd yearly by the previous owner, and again, I have kept this up also. It is of course, MOT exempt, so this wasn't a requirement
The 1641 engine conversion means this Beetle drives really well, and has no problem keeping up with modern-day traffic/ cars - with it cruising comfortably at 55mph. Overall, it drives nicely for a 44 year old car
I have receipts of work completed to the car, and 2 sets of keys (2x ignition, 2x door/ engine compartment)
Sold as seen
It'll be easier to message than call me - if you do want to call, please drop me a message and we'll arrangeThis car has some great details, taken from other models of Beetle to make it extra special.
It features the Lemmerz wheels taken from the "marathon" celebratory edition, which have been powder coated, and the rears have been subtly banded to create a unique but subtle stance to the car
It also features OEM pop out rear windows which would have only featured on non-UK models previously
It has been ever so slightly lowered, which doesn't affect the ride quality at all, but gives the car a slightly more sleek look
The bespoke interior is tastefully colourful whilst still remaining in keeping with the vehicle, produced to a high standard, and is uniquely quirky
I rarely go anywhere in this car without someone stopping to watch me pass by, smiling and occasionally even waving. It really is a gut wrench to sell it, as I had had planned to keep it significantly longer - hence why I had chosen such a nice example - so I want someone to enjoy it as much as I have!
