Description
This MX-5 was registered on 23/ 12/ 1996 and I am the fifth owner in 28 years. It’s the top specification 1. 8iS model, which includes power steering and electric windows. Crystal white (a comparatively rare colour) with black cloth interior. I bought the car in October 2023 from long-term storage and completed a comprehensive recommissioning including the following; a major service including all fluids and filters, cam belt, water pump, all brake discs and pads, rear callipers, exhaust and catalytic converter, clutch master and slave cylinders, new radiator and all hoses (silicone) and new HT leads. The bodywork is exceptionally good. The interior is equally good with no marks or damage on the cloth seats or carpet. The hood is like new with a clear rear window. There’s a wind blocker and also a rare full-length tonneau cover in addition to the soft to ‘boot’ cover. Newly refurbished 15” Enkei RP01 wheels with Toyo proxes T1R tyres (less than 100 miles) plus the original 14” wheels in good unrestored condition with good tyres. Good MOT history with minimal surface corrosion on suspension components but no mention of the usual seat belt mounting area corrosion. I’d considered undersealing the car but it’s only used in the dry and so I have left as-is for now. Mileage circa 113, 000 miles (an average of 4, 000 miles a year). Currently SORN. Stored in a heated garage. I have the original sales brochure, along with a copy of the rare Jack Yamaguci book on the history of the MX5 plus a workshop manual. This is an exceptionally original MX-5 in excellent condition and lots of recent expenditure. A huge history file comes with the car. You will not be disappointed. An exceptional 1996 MX-5 in a relatively rare colour and very original.
