1974 Puch MS50D, 3-Speed, 2-Stroke Motorcycle, Moped.
Tax and MOT exempt.
These are quality built mopeds made in Austria.
It's a fan-cooled model, with lovely castings.
It starts easily, and runs well.
I've stripped and cleaned both brakes and hubs, including the speedometer drive; as well as general servicing, which includes new plug, HT lead, transmission oil change (30 grade).
It has new high quality sprockets (German Esjot brand), and a new Regina chain.
The wiring is original and not messed with, and corresponds to the factory wiring diagram. I cleaned all the connectors, and can confirm the lights and original horn ( which I sourced ), work correctly. The horn in the photo has been replaced with an original.
The gears select well by a twistgrip control. It possibly needs a new clutch pull-rod (slightly noisy). It doesn't affect the selection etc. These rods are readily available from Germany/ Netherlands.
It has new toolbox locks and keys.
The green paintwork is all original; with the cream areas having been repainted at some time. No nasty bodges have been covered over.
During my ownership, I've acquired a Haynes manual, both parts books, factory data sheet, and an original owner's handbook.
These; plus a complete, genuine exhaust system, gasket set, contact points, flywheel extractor, and all removed parts are included in the sale.
These mopeds are lightweight (easy to move by ageing bodies),
and just a bit of fun.
It would easily load into an estate car, small van, by preferably removing the pedals.
