Description

This British classic has just been subject to a bare metal nut and bolt restoration and has only covered test miles. It passed the MOT on 10th Feb 1st time no advisories. The 1622 MKII has a higher gear ratio in the rear axle to allow more comfortable cruising at motorway speeds. The entire body and chassis have been epoxy rust proofed. The body is a Californian import and only required new sills and a few small repairs. The bumpers, front grill, widow surrounds and door handles are all original items that have been professionally re-chromed. The cylinder head has been converted to run on unleaded fuel. It is fitted with the correct anti-roll bar, working heater, fuel pressure regulator, MGB front dampers and carburettors and stainless steel exhaust system. The interior is upholstered in Italian leather, this includes the dashboard and door cards as well as the seats. Inertia reel seatbelts are fitted. She starts easily, pulls well through the gears and rides and handles superbly. I deliberately did not fit accessories such as mirrors and boot rack as these items are easy to fit but very hard to remove, so the new owner can personalize the car to their own taste. USB stick with lots of photos taken during construction as well as a folder containing lots of receipts and MOT's is included as is a workshop manual and restoration guide and spare paint for any stone chips. The car has been properly restored to a high standard but I am not claiming it is perfect. On very close inspection their are a few flaws but I am nit picking, nothing serious and certainly no hidden horrors. She is ready to show and enjoy and if you leave her as is you will have one of the nicest MKII coupes in the country, if you wish to tinker there are a few details you can attend to. Only 219 MKII coupes were ever sold in the UK so they are becoming increasingly rare. I am only selling as I need space and money for my next project. For more details and photos please contact me and I can email lots more photos.
