For sale is my 1982 Ford Capri 1600L 1. 6 in classic red, a true vintage gem with a mere 61, 660 miles on the clock. This iconic vehicle drives perfectly and is ready to pick up and go, no need for a trailer! It has a manual transmission, a 1593 cc engine, and rear-wheel drive. With only 5 previous owners and less than 50 of this model registered in the UK, this Capri is a collector's dream, a true head turner!
CAT C EXPLANATION: Unfortunately when transporting for repairs in my early days of owning car received damage to the left wing getting onto a trailer. Did not have an accident on the road. I rung the insurance and said they wanted to write it off which I could not believe as it was just a small bit of body work. I decided to source the left wing myself and have it repaired, took me a couple weeks and straight back to normal. Still can not work out for the life of me why they would try to write it off, wish I never rung them!
* Mechanical: The car runs perfectly, having undergone full service recently. Starts, drives and stops very well. The engine is in excellent condition. The manifold heat shield needs replacing but has no effect on driving, very small job. The exhaust is new, just over 2 years old. The battery is new, just over a year old. Brand new Weber carburettor. New master cylinder installed. Breaks were replaced and work perfectly.
* Low Mileage: With only 61, 660 miles on the clock, this Capri has plenty of life left and is ready for its next adventure.
* Bodywork: Gorgeous classic RED! While the body exhibits signs of wear and tear (light scratches, some denting, and slight rust that should be repaired) it is generally in good condition for its age. Recently had a compound and polish and looks gorgeous, as you can see in the photos! Rust repair has been performed on the underside with new sills. Bodywork just needs some TLC possible small amount of welding.
* Original Interior: The grey original interior is in remarkable condition, with the roof showcasing no tears or issues, and all seats, except for a minor repair needed on the driver's seat, are in amazing condition. Dash and vinyl are in great condition. The floor pan is in great condition. The gear stick and pedal great condition. The boot is in great condition. The boot shelf needs to be replaced. 1 door handle small black plastic frame to be replaced cheap on ebay.
* Wheels and Tires: Fitted with new tires on original alloys in good condition.
* Exterior: The windows are in good condition, rear window heater works. The rubber seals on the windows could benefit from replacement. The windows open and close with no problems. New bumpers have been installed and side skirtings are in good condition. Wing mirrors are non-original and show slight rust, easily replaceable. The doors open, close and lock with no problem.
* Electrical: The classic Ford radio is operational but needs to be connected to speakers. This classic radio includes a custom AUX cable installation for your mobile phone when you connect the speakers and works perfectly. The heater fan requires attention. It does not blow but the car still produces warmth. An easy fix - a very common problem with Capri’s.
* Documentation: Comes with over 14 years of MOT, service records, and repairs, providing a comprehensive history of the vehicle.
* Additional Notes: Despite needing a few cosmetic touch-ups, it is roadworthy and ready for immediate use. Comes with 2 keys.
