This Mercedes has been transformed from a hen house to a beautifull Hotrod, the build started in the 80s and took 5 years to complete. Riding on its original chassis with its original steel body.
The engine and Gearbox are upgraded from 4 cylinder and manual gears to a Fuel Injected Aluminium V8 and a 3 speed Automatic gearbox. Power steering and Power brakes makes easy handling complete. Exterior the car has a Bronze metallic paint and alloy wheels. Original rear drum brakes and disc brakes in front. Mercedes 170 S
A Mercedes 170S as a hotrod. You don't see something like this every day. This Mercedes dates back to 1952 and
underwent a comprehensive restoration and a thorough rebuild of the engine and technology in the 1980s.
The roof was cut off, the wings widened and the original 4-cylinder engine was replaced by an aluminium V8 engine with fuel injection and an automatic 3-speed gearbox from ZF.
The car is completely original except for the front brakes, which are now disc brakes, and the V8 engine.
Driving this hotrod is a special experience, there is no chance to refuel undisturbed because everyone wants to know everything about it.
The car has a high fun factor! The V8 engine produces a pleasant, deep rumble, and shifting gears, braking and steering are surprisingly easy.
The choice of the Mercedes is surprising because the construction of such a hotrod was often based on an American car.
The car comes with an extensive dossier with photos of the restoration and conversion as well as many articles from the magazines in which the car was exhibited.
