1980 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit

So here is my Rolls Royce which I have owner for 4 years after acquiring it from a chap who had it laid up in his garage for 12 years,

- One of the very first Silver Spirits
- Registered new in November 1980 with DVLA
- V5 is my name at my home address.
- Tax Exempt
- 37, 000 miles
- Full history with all the books and service stamps etc.
- Rare Parkertex Seats
- Everything works
- Enthusiast owned
- Used sparingly but regulary - I have taken it to Northern Ireland, London and Bealieu and its been round Curbough Sprint track.

The car was orginaly sold new in Manchester but then found it's way to the Isle of Man for around 10 years with the owner of the Four Seasons Hotel. ( I have the original I-o-M log book)

It then moved to Staffordshire where it was kept in a dry garage and used once a year for around 12 years. This is when I came across it and quickly realised that is needed to find a more caring home - i. e. me.

With such low milage I decided that it was worth working making mint again and so in the last 4 years I have done the following:

- Gearbox taken out refurbished and refitted.
- Carbs overhauled
- Brakes overhauled
- Door Caps re-veneered by some ex RR guys in Crewe
- New Boot Carpets
- 4 x Avon Turbo Steel Tyres
- New Battery
- Fully Serviced and M-o-T
- Electric Windows and Central locking overhauled
- New Air Conditioning compressor (ice cold)
- New Rear window seal
- Repairs to power steering pipes
- New fuel pump.
- Rear arches professional repaired (common problem)
- Steam cleaned underneath and fully rustproofed (Jan 2025)

A previous M-o-T noted a weeping rear shock absorber, but is very minor and so for the low milage that I do in the car it never worried me - however I have acquied replacement shocker which will come with the car.

I an only looking for what it owes me which is £15, 000. You could buy one from a dealer for £20, 000+ and hope that its as good as it seems or you buy one for £7, 000 and spend £10, 000 putting it in order. So do yourself a favour - by mine from an enthusiast owner who has too many cars and would like it to go to a good home. A straight sale would be preferred but I would consider a swap / part ex for any of the following:

- Bently Turbo R
- Jaguar XJR
- Jaguar XJ6 - an early tax exempt one
- 4 Door Maserati
- MGB GT V8
- BMW 5 Series
- BMW 7 Series
- Lightweight Land Rover
Or somthing similar - ideally 4 door, or fast and tax exempt.
