Description
1965 El Camino. Supercharged 383 small block, drag race TH350, Quick Performance Ford 9" rated at 1500hp. New ARE VN309 wheels with Mickey Thompson drag radials on the rear and regular tyres on the front. The car is very solid although it does have some minor bodywork issues. It runs and drives extremely well. The engine was built in 2017 and has done less than 5000 miles since. The transmission came from a race car and had been refreshed before I bought it. It also has a 2600 stall torque converter with anti balloon plates for boosted applications. It also has a forward pattern manual valve body. The rear axle us a excellent unit. I over spec'd it so it will never break with this combination. The interior, although sparce, is functional though it needs to be finished. It has no carpets, headliner or door cards but I do have a pair of bead rolled aluminium door cards that will go with the car. It has a full compliment of gauges including oil pressure, coolant temp, air/ fuel ratio, and boost. The speedo is new but isn't currently working, which is probably a cable issue. The fuel gauge does work. There is the original bench seat which, although dirty, is otherwise in very good condition. Gears are handled by a B&M Stealth Magnum pistol grip shifter and steering duties are dealt with via a original 1960's Superior 'The 500' red metalflake steering wheel. All lights work, wipers work but the horn doesn't at present. A new fuel tank was also fitted around 2019. I have all the engine specs if required so please ask if you want them. I have reduced the price of my car by £4500 so please don't waste my time or yours with ridiculous offers. I want £12500 but will consider cash offers over £12000. This is a excellent and cheap way to get into American cars and the engine, trans and rear axle would cost what I'm asking for the whole car, so grab yourselves a bargain. Thanks for looking. I bought this car in 2006 and have progressively been upgrading it during my ownership. I have the complete owner history and the car was also once owned by Jeff Beck, the late rock guitarist back in the early 70's. I have since bought another car, so it's time for this small piece of automotive history to have a new custodian.
