1937 Austin 7 Ruby Mk2 4 seat 2 Door ARR Saloon.
748cc 3 bearing engine with 4 speed gearbox. First Registration: May 1937. Original registration number of COY 776.
Dry stored and not driven in rain by the previous owner for 44 years nor by the current owner. Current owner since 2016 and is garaged.
Professional respray in 2018. The all black finish is excellent. Front windscreen opens. Fully functional opening sunroof. Front and rear side opening windows. The seats have been reupholstered by the previous owner in black.
The following work has been undertaken by a well know professional Austin 7 engineer as follows: Engine rebored and fully rebuilt with upgraded oil pump in 2019 and driven 2000 miles since, clutch replaced, kingpins, wheel bearings, brakes, steering box, shock absorbers & links & bushes replaced to name a few. Dynamo reconditioned. Starter motor reconditioned and new starter switch. Rear springs replaced with new. Exide 6volt 80amp 600cca battery. 6v LED headlights, sidelights, rear lights, stoplights and front/ rear indicators, even the semaphores indicators work and have flashing LEDs! Dashboard instruments work. Water temperature gauge fitted. Twin door mirrors. USB socket fitted for Phone/ SatNav/ CarCam.
All five wheels have been powder coated and have very good tyres and unused spare.
All Phillips screws have been removed and replaced with slotted screws for vintage authenticity & originality. No expense has been spared in the restoration.
Starts easily, runs and is lovely to drive and is economical.
