Description
A fully restored example of the last and best Speed 25 variant - the SC model comes with servo assist drum brakes, the short stud head and twin exhaust manifold.
The car was released from the Alvis Coventry Works to the Charlesworth Motor Bodies company and was fitted with their popular saloon body. Car number 19511 is featured in Nick Walkers excellent book; Alvis Speed Models in Detail and comes with a detailed ownership history and comprehensive 10 year restoration record, including the replica Cross and Ellis Tourer body it now wears in period correct "jewelescent" style green paint.
Each and every part of the car has been professionally restored including engine, suspension, brakes, gearbox, diff, wiring, bodywork, paint, hood, trim, chrome etc. I have made a comprehensive photographic record of all work undertaken showing the labor of love, quality and scope of work to which this car has been treated - available to any interested parties via email. I have driven approx 3500 miles since completing the restoration meaning this car is ready for use and coming summer events. The SC Speed 25 models were the supercars of the 1930s. They are fast (90+mph), sleek, responsive to drive, handle well and sound great. They are a statement of style, taste and automotive beauty. You can arrive at any event, at any location from a petrol pump to Piccadilly and be sure of instant attention, admiration, perhaps envy but always genuine interest. In the words of the late great Alvis man Idris Francis (who advised on the paint colour) "People in the 1930's who could afford twice the price of a house for a car were not shrinking violets - they wanted to be noticed, and there were many colourful cars at that time" He advised be bold and make a statement. The tourer body has two swage lines running from the eagle radiator mascot, across the endless bonnet and then swooping down around the front doors, complimented by a red pinstripe and burgundy aniline leather really make this car standout.
