Selling my MX5 MK1 due to current house move. This is a limited edition 1 of only 800 made for the Japanese market. Unique combination Sunburst Yellow paint with black painted windscreen surround. In very good overall condition, there is no rust or corrosion and it has never been welded. Low mileage for its age of 75k (or 121km). It came with the more powerful 1. 8ltr engine and has lots of extras from factory as standard. Long MOT till July 2025 (no advisories). Interior has lots of tasteful upgrades including Yellow coded ‘Lockwood’ cluster dials, Momo steering wheel and black leather seats with yellow-piping both in excellent condition. Also stainless steel trim, yellow ‘Roadster’ kick-plates etc. Fantastic Pioneer Digital Screen stereo system (cost £300) with Android/ iPhone connectivity to phone for sat nav, music and radio. Microphone is also fitted for taking hands-free calls, plus rear-parking camera and windscreen dash-cam. Clean and tidy interior with desirable tear-drop door cards and jet-fighter buttons for the electric windows.
The car came with certain factory spec items such as 4. 1 ratio Zexel Torsen differential, electric adjustable wing mirrors, air-conditioning and power-steering. Nice upgrades include Jeep LED halo headlights, LED tinted sidelights and LED indicators. Jass Performance stainless steel floor rails giving added bracing.
Engine bay is very clean, mechanically the car has been very well looked after during its life. New water-pump, cambelt, thermostat housing, power-steering and alternator drive belts all replaced by SolentMX5 (an MX5 specialist) in Sept 2024. Stainless steel scuttle panel behind firewall prevents leaves and dust falling towards the front sills. The MX5 headlight ‘wink’ modification is also fitted which also connects to the MX5 Tech Remote app to operate.
Lightweight 15-inch racing alloy wheels recently refurbished costing £250 and tyres all have lots of tread. Vented racing disc brakes and red-painted calipers. Private style number plate ‘C18 MXV’ is included with the sale. Stainless steel exhaust fitted which gives the car a lovely sound. An immobiliser is installed for additional security plus paperwork is in the file to register for insurance purposes.
Premium mohair soft top roof which has a heated glass screen is in excellent condition. The black hard-top is in mint condition, professionally re-sprayed and is also heated rear-screen (note the hardtop is not included with the sale, but is available separately by negotiation).
The bodywork overall is good condition for its age. There are a few minor blemishes but the car is perfectly presentable for being 31yrs old. Vented left-headlight cover fitted but I also have the original one which comes with the car. The underside is all solid and rust free. All the anti-roll bar links were replaced by SolentMX5 in Sept 2024 as well as cleaning and painting of both the sway bars in yellow. Front bumper lower lip for a sleek front-end look and original leather tonneau cover for soft top.
Car comes with a large folder of receipts and servicing records. 3 keys and 2 immobiliser fobs. Overall, a very genuine and solid example of this rare to find Eunos model which is highly sought after. This car is ready to drive and be enjoyed by its next owner, it puts a smile on everyone’s face whenever it goes past with its unique colour and style.
