Description

1965 Austin Mini

Custom olive green with black roof and livery.

10” Ultralight Mini Wheels wrapped in matching Yokohama Advance HF Tyres (which have only covered about 400 miles).

A plentitude of mechanical upgrades have gone into making this Mini a much higher performance example than its subtle appearance would suggest. These include a bored-out 1375cc engine, and performance parts from Swiftune, MED, Weber, and ARP. This produces 100+ bhp (dyno proven) driving the front wheels through a MED Helical LSD and highly accurate straight-cut 4-speed gearbox.

A list of engine build components can be found below.

There are images to demonstrate the condition of the shell, but it remains in excellent condition top and bottom, with no signs of corrosion, and although there is a small amount of evidence of past repairs, the floors and sills are completely sound and the bodywork presents beautifully. The chrome work is clean and bright, the wheels are unmarked and the lightweight Perspex side and rear windows are clear. Please see the photographs.

The car has benefitted from a very recent upgrade of the interior, which included new carpets (bespoke and hand fitted, not a pattern part), as well as having the dash and interior surfaces recovered in olive vinyl to match the custom paint work. This dashboard also houses a MagSafe magnet which can be used to mount a smartphone seamlessly to the dash and be used for navigation (see images). Along with the roll cage, a set of classic racing seats, and Willans harnesses, you have a complete sporty but usable “fast road” aesthetic to match the purposeful drive train. Lastly, a black edition Momo Prototipo steering wheel, original Smiths gauges, and a Kent Auto Developments gear shifter comprise your vehicle controls.

Invoices totaling around £12, 000 since 2019 demonstrate the care and attention that have gone into this hugely enjoyable little Mini. It was most recently serviced in August 2024 by a British classics & sports car specialist in Buckinghamshire who spoke very highly of the car, and it has only covered a few hundred miles since this service.

There are far too many upgraded components to list, but a few are included below:

Weber Type 45 DCOE Carburettor
Magnecor Ignition Cables
Swiftune Billet Road Camshaft
MED Engine Components - Numerous
MED High Torque Starter Motor
MED Helical Limited Slip Differential
MED Ultra Light Steel Flywheel
MED Gearbox Internals
MED Rear Anti-Roll Bar Kit
Maniflow Exhaust System
Disk Brake Conversion Kit
