Description
This superb example of an MG B is for sale in South African Rand for R220, 000 (negotiable).
External Condition: 8/ 10
The car has been professionally repainted. Blemishes in the bodywork are minimal and are shown in the photographs. There is very little corrosion on the vehicle and the chromework is in very good condition, complimenting the classic red paintwork beautifully. Recently the paint and chromework have been thoroughly polished and the car is gleaming.
Please note that there is a crack in the front windscreen and a crack in the rear window of the targa top (as shown in photographs). A replacement front windscreen will be provided with the car.
Internal Condition: 7/ 10
The interior of the car has been well maintained and retains many original features. Recently a thorough extraction cleaning of the seats and carpets was undertaken by a professional detailer. There is light cosmetic wear on the interior door handles and panels, which could be replaced with new fittings that are readily available in South Africa.
Mechanical Condition: 8/ 10
The car is mechanically sound and its new owner can look forward to driving it straight away without needing to perform any maintenance on the vehicle. The engine starts reliably.
In preparation for sale the following works have been undertaken to preserve the car's superb condition:
- Fuel tank and fuel lines emptied and cleaned
- Fuel filter and fuel pump replaced
- Rear brakes serviced, with brake cylinders re-sleaved
- New battery fitted
Accessories included with the vehicle:
- Red targa top
- Black leather soft top
- Black leather tonneau cover
Although listed as a 4 speed, the MGB is equipped with an overdrive, effectively providing a 5th gear. The vehicle was acquired from its previous owner over ten years ago. It is part of a private collection of classic British and Italian marques that is being put up for sale by the current owner, who is retiring from a long career of collecting and restoring classic sports cars and motorcycles.
