For sale is my 1990 Rover Mini Cooper RSP. I’ve owned this car for 10 years and am selling it after buying another vehicle.
This is no. 281 of just 1050 RSP models and was originally bought from a dealership in Kent in October 1990.
My Dad and I bought this car in February 2015 and during our ownership it has been recommissioned to its original specification.
Major work includes: fully refurbished gearbox, new outer sills and rust removed from wheel arches, RSP-correct alloys fully refurbished, plastic wheel arches painted red, new single-box exhaust, new spot lamps, new front grille, new mats and more.
Mechanically it is in good order having passed its previous two MOT tests with zero advisories, with the next MOT due in June 2025 – don't let the mileage put you off.
It starts, runs and drives without fault. I’ve taken it on the motorway and it pootles along just fine.
It will come with a comprehensive history file which includes invoices, service history and the Rover service booklet and owners manual (which are incredibly rare and sought after).
Overall it is a tidy car and presents in decent condition, but to make it immaculate it will need some work doing to the scuttle, bonnet and nearside front wing which are showing signs of bubbling. The plastic nearside rear wheel arch is cracked so I’m throwing in a new one as part of the sale.
The tyres are matching and are in good condition and the interior presents well for its age – the drivers seat is worn and a replacement would be ideal if you can find one.
The steering wheel was refurbished not long before I bought it and it's in great condition.
Included in the sale will be some original/ new parts, e. g the rocker cover, air intake, bonnet stickers with John Cooper signature.
This is a rare car and a great investment for anyone looking for a working and well-cared for example.
