Description

1990 range rover classic

119617 miles, no mot

Here we have my Range Rover classic that I am selling due to a lack of space and time. Power comes from the venerable 3. 9 litre lucas efi rover v8 paired to a 5 speed manual transmission (lt77 type) overall a very reliable combination when looked after properly. Engine starts the first time every time and sounds smooth both on idle and through the rev range. When driving the gearbox goes through all of the gears nicely and the clutch feels firm and true thanks to a brand new slave cylinder, there are no odd noises when driving and steering is just as it should be.

Good bits:
Very nice seats with no tears or rips
Central locking
Tailgate closes nicely
All doors close and open well
3. 9 v8
Lt77 Manual transmission
Air conditioning
Chassis is solid with no pinholes
No catalytic converters
Very clean oil
New clutch slave cylinder

Bad bits:
Rust in the cills, bonnet, tailgate both upper and lower, rear body mounts, bulkhead is a bit tender, rear arches and there is rust starting around the windscreen
The alternator is shot and either needs a new one or the old one recommissioning
Headlining is saggy and needs replacing
High low range lever is stiff but does work with persuasion
Handbrake also has a tendency to stick
Needs some overall tlc
will need a new battery as the current one is on the way outThis particular vehicle is an ex land rover press car with documents to prove ( heritage certificate and press articles in Land Rover international in 1992 ) it was one of the first 2 to have anti roll bars front and rear but this is not a car that you can just buy and drive away so it needs trailering away it is also not a car for the short of patience nor the faint of heart as to get it back on the road it needs restoration. All of the parts are however available from britpart and YRM ect. It is a great candidate for a rolling restoration and with its provenance in the land rover world, worth the effort.

Sold as a running and driving project £4000
