FOR SALE my 1996 BMW e39 523i manual in Montreal Blue with grey cloth interior.
Very low mileage at just under 61, 000 miles from new. Full service history which includes stamped service book as well as receipts and previous MOT sheets. Original purchase invoice also in the file confirming options from new were: shadow-line around the windows rather than chrome, metallic paint (Montreal Blue), Style 33 alloy wheels (which will come with the car but tyres are the reason for the MOT advisory) and dealer-fit floor mats.
MOT until 02 2025. Tyres have been replaced on the Style 49s with new matching Avons all round and my local BMW specialist estimates that the brake pads have 3-5, 000 miles left in them, having seen the car in December.
Recent work carried out including:
- Full service (5w30 LL04 oil, Bosch oil filter, Bosch air filter, Febi fuel filter, Febi cabin filter, iridium spark plugs)
- Correct fitment Yuasa battery fitted by RAC in January 2025 with warranty
- 2x rear rose bushes
- Front nearside inner tie rod
- Front offside anti roll bar link
- Second key from BMW Specialist Cars Tring
The car has been inspected by my local BMW specialist and found to be structurally solid and in no need of immediate work (although minor jobs have been identified that could be attended to over time, it is over 20 years old!). No rust coming through the paint, beginnings of rust on the seam in the fuel filler area but you have to look inside the fuel filler area to see it. Paint polishes up well but shows its age in places, most notably a scratch on n/ s passenger door and one bird mess scar on the boot lid. The seal around the (original) windscreen is perishing but is a cosmetic issue. Wheels could do with a refurb but centres are brand new.
Grey cloth interior is in amazing condition. Black dash top, wood inserts and grey lower. Everything works (speakers, central locking, HVAC, windows etc.) except for the n/ s rear window which doesn't open or close. Brand new Eonon head unit with wireless Android Auto and (I believe) Carplay and is a good colour match to the OEM interior lights, and works really well. No leaks, oil or any other fluid loss. Everything feels nice, tight and original; drives really well.
HPI clear. V5 in my name at my home address.
