Description
The C215 generation of the CL Coupe was introduced in 2000 and was the top of the then Mercedes range. With an unstressed V12-powered power unit, the CL600 came with every available option and cost in the region of £100, 000.
Factory specification includes 5-speed automatic gearbox, electric-operated adjustable driver’s seat with memory, Active Body air Suspension, heated/ ventilated front seats, electric windows, electric mirror adjustment, soft-closing doors and boot, folding rear headrests, electric rear privacy blind, and massage front seats.
The car features Mercedes' Active Body Control (ABC) active suspension that uses electrohydraulic rams in the dampers directly managing body motion. The system delivers reduction of roll, dive, and helps to make the CL handle impressively. This CL has the naturally aspirated 5. 8-litre 12-cylinder engine, which is less stressed than the later twin-turbo that came with the 2002 facelift. The car is silver metallic with black anthracite Nappa leather. There is some light oxidation on some wheel arches, the air con needs recharging and the cruise control occasionally disengages itself.
During the current ownership, the ABC pump has been replaced.
Owned for 19 years, the car has covered just over 110, 000 miles from new, most of which has been long motorway driving. It is now for sale due to retirement.
This example of the C215 Mercedes-Benz CL600 comes with some history and an MOT to January 2026.
