Description
This is another one in the ‘you must have had one’ category: Maserati's famous Biturbo. Especially the first years are the most infamous versions. This was back in the days when Maserati did not value the term quality very highly. Fortunately, its successors have been more successful, including this handsome and rust-free Maserati 422. Of course, it all comes down to thorough maintenance and keeping the vehicle up to date.
The previous owner of this car used it as a daily driver for the last 9, 000 km. Of Italian origin witness also the 2. 0 V6 that was delivered only for the Italian market.
Condition of the car:
Very nice clean condition of bodywork and chrome work. The car looks very well cared for. The sheet metal all around is tight! The half leather half alcantara interior is nice with minimal damage. The odometer read 01/ 24 at 76, 197, it has died this year: so please allow for an extra 9, 000 km.
Driving:
Driving a Biturbo is always an experience in itself, nice that running along of the turbos. This is precisely why the 422 has its unique character. This one in particular drives like a pinch, but that is partly due to the previous owner's efforts. All notorious issues have been addressed beforehand; so it is a fine and well-driving car that could be used daily.
Maintenance:
This Maserati has been well maintained especially in recent years.
Last year, the following maintenance was carried out (preventively):
- all belts replaced,
- steering box overhauled,
- four new tyres,
- oil & filters,
- transmission oil,
- differential oil,
- brake fluid,
- spark plugs,
- various rubbers,
- all relays,
- fuse box replaced with the biturbox fuse box.
The Biturbo comes with 2 keys and a thick folder of invoices.
