Description
There it is, a genuine Simca Ariane SL. That SL stands for Super Luxe. Then you think lots of options, but in 1962 that was a bit more chrome, a windscreen washer and not forgetting make-up mirrors... yes yes, the ladies were also thought of in those days.
But what a great design this French beauty has. They took a good look at the Americans at the time because it looks quite a bit like that in a slimmed-down form.
This one was body-off restored between 2014 and 2019, so the condition is fantastic.
State of the car:
Delightful and especially beautiful classic, as mentioned ‘ body-off’ restored, but retaining its character.
Driving:
OK, just adjust your mindset. Hello 1962! That was a bit different back then. Especially when you look at the specs: 32. 1 seconds from 0 to 100 is obviously not worth a mention in the Guinness Book of Records. Despite that, it still comes along nicely with traffic at the bottom. But who cares? You don't buy it for that, just an icon of French 60s industry!
The Simca has Belgian papers.
