Description

Jaguar XK120 SE roadster, 1953. Fantastic condition. No rust whatsoever. History.
This car was sold in October 1953 by Ernest W Hatfield , Sheffield with first registration RWB 564.
The car was abandoned by its owner in Normandy and bought by Fred A. In 1985. Unfortunately Fred died sometime later. His sons asked respected restorer Patrick Lansart to nut and bolt restore the car in 2006 for a wedding. (About £35000 of invoices), engine rebuilt, clutch system, aluminium fuel tank, new shocks, new bumpers, dynator, new hood, new tonneau, facet fuel pump and chromed wire wheels.
I bought the car in 2022 from France and was amazed at the condition. I have had classic XK’s for 30 years now and I have never had a car in such perfect condition. With the help of JEC I managed to get the old number plate restored to the car.
The car is all matching numbers and drove faultlessly but after fighting the ‘originality demons’ I wanted to improve it and I embarked on converting the car to 5 speed, with front discs and calipers along with 2” Su’s, electronic ignition and manual choke. New high torque starter, new aluminium radiator, hoses and electric cooling fan. New Seat belts and armrest.
I also tweaked the pedals, sculpted the seat backs, adjusted the seat runners together with a new smaller Motolita steering wheel. The car now fits my 6 foot 2” frame.
Car is now sorted. I also have an E Type and I love them both but one has to go and I can't decide which one.  They are both very different but equally brilliant in their own way.
