Description
Gorgeous, well-preserved and documented SAAB 96L, model year 1977 B. Binder full of receipts, cash book, inspection report etc. 2 keys. 4 owners. I acquired the car last year from an acquaintance in a trade involving another older vehicle. Documented just over 75, 000 miles. Professionally repainted from brown to Polar White W1 in 1990, receipt and work description are in the binder. Slightly newer touch-up painting on the top of the rear fenders. Interior in very good condition, slightly sun-bleached and small tear at the top of the backrest at the back. Nice Dunlop Summer tyres on steel rims with original stainless steel hubcaps. Newly serviced with oil and oil filter, air filter and polishing/ waxing. Engine and gearbox work flawlessly, including the freewheel. Brakes checked and bled. Spare tire and original tools in boot of the car. Newer brake hoses all around. An older welding in floor right front. MOT Inspected and documented in january 2025 without any negative remarks. A very very nice car that is a pleasure to drive. Ready for all the car adventures of the coming Summer. The previous owner told me the owners before him had the car from 1980 until just a few years ago. It was mainly used as a summer car, as they lived in the United States, and kept this car at their summer house, thereby the low mileage for a almost 50 year old car. And driving it you can really tell. It feels firm and responsive, just like you’d expect from a low mileage vehicle.
They were involved in a small fender bender in 1989 or 90, and were offered by the insurance company to change color, and being tired of the brown, they opted for the much rarer Polar White that the car now has. The current excellent condition of the paint is a testament to their high quality work in the repaint.
Truthfully, I would love to keep this car. I have owned many Saab 96’s and I doubt I will ever find a nicer one, but I have too many cars and not enough space or time. Someone else will enjoy it more - maybe you?!
