VW Scirocco Gti 1. 6, 5 speed manual. 1982.
This is the Mk2 Gti model, sought after single wiper injection model. Bigger vented brakes, sports coupe, more HP etc.
Tax and MOT exempt.
Bought two years ago from a dealer after restoration, including underside and fresh paint. New wheels / tires and suspension.
Not perfect but a great daily classic! I've been using it every day and do 600 to 800 miles a month. Sits at 75-80 mph and gets there just as quick as the modern stuff but makes you smile!!! Sounds great, not loud but a gentle growl as i do a lot of miles didn't want anything silly on it!
Last Oct: Cambelt changed, new brake discs and pads (comes with an extra new set too), fresh oil / filter, plugs and service.
Clutched checked and as new so not touched.
Selling this and a few other cars as i've retired and now not driving half as much and don't want them to just sit doing nothing. Insurance was £50 a year, free Tax and Mot exempt.
Negative:
Cracked dash! Speedo sometimes works, sometimes does not. Cable from the back of dash is loose (you can hear it sometimes). This started 3 months ago so millage is a couple more than the clock now shows. When it stops working all other gauges work so i have a GPS speedo sat on the dash as a back up. Rear wiper does not work and neither does full beam / front fogs. All other lights and regular lights work. Parcel shelf squeeks so i've removed it, but it;s great condition and will be with the car. Original springs, wheel liners and other bits and bobs will come with the car. Bolster in drivers seat is worn, but not broken through.
