Description
This 460 Turbo, affectionately known as Tegel (swedish for brick), was saved from being crushed in 2021, when the previous owner became bedridden and could no longer drive his pride and joy.
Car in overall good condition, with this, the Turbo version, being considered the rarest of all the 400-series, with only a few units on the road throughout Europe still driving.
Portuguese car from new (no rust), very well kept, with around €3000 spent (several invoices to back this up) over the last few years to guarantee its good condition.
This model is one of the most equipped, with ABS, air conditioning, central locking, electric windows, leather seats, electric mirrors, fog lights and on-board computer.
The suspension has been upgraded in period (estimated late 90s), with adjustable Koni Special Active shock absorbers at the front and non-adjustable Koni Sport at the rear, fully rebuilt recently at a specialist, and Lesjofors lowering springs (15mm lower).
Engine wise, the 1721cc, Renault-based 4 cylinder, with 120 hp is still full of life and very strong.
It makes this an effortless and underrated cruiser, with even higher cruising speeds being no problem for this "B18 FT" unit.
It has currently covered around 211, 500km, but this value could rise as the car still has some regular use.
Special highlight to the 15-inch "Vega" wheels, a very rare wheel model from Volvo's aftermarket accessories line for the 400-series, and a very sought after item. These have been fully repaired and resprayed a year ago, and have a full set of Hankook VentusPrime3 tyres.
It also has an equal spare wheel, making it a rarer 5-wheel set
Along with the car several spares will be delivered , which I bought over time for stock and to replace if necessary.
Downsides:
The Black Metallic paintwork, although very shiny and mostly original, has some scuffs and scratches, and has clearly been painted before on a couple panels, and not to a high standard. A full repaint would make it perfect.
The interior shows some wear on the front seats, and is yet to be repaired due to high demand at my local upholsterer. With the sale is also included a complete rear bench that I acquired so they can be brought to original standard, since new leather is nonexistent.
