Westfalia had been building their VW-approved Type 25/ Type 3 (T3) camper conversions since 1979 and the T1 and T2 versions before that.
Registered in the UK on 1st July 2005, this imported example has the petrol 1900cc 83hp water-cooled ‘wasser-boxer’ engine.
Upon examination of the Westfalia build plaque, this is a P-27 left-hand drive export model that was the very first 1984 (‘E’ code) model year P-27 off the production line, reading as build number ‘00001’ on the Westfalia plaque. A significant and very collectible 1984 Westfalia indeed.

Evident from the physical appearance, the camper was built to North American specification—more likely Canada—and would have begun its journey at VW’s Hannover plant before the VW-approved Westfalia-Werke conversion.

Recruited from the production line as a Westfalia-Werke factory demonstrator and owned and mainatained by Westfalia for a number of years until coming to these shores in 2005.
A detailed restoration that sought to keep the vehicle as original as possible, was carried out by the previous keeper in recent years. The Westfalia interior furniture and trim remain much the same as to when it left the factory and mechanically the engine has benefitted from some major overhaul/ restoration work and was last serviced in 2024. It has now covered 235, 000 KM and I have personally just driven the Westie some 300 miles without incident.
Engine bay has not been detailed in turn keeping it very original. Stainless exhaust to original spec replaced 2023, engine cover left in it's original white colour.
To potentially be used, or form part of a collection, there’s a lot of history on file for this very original specification ‘Westy’, both from its time in Germany and the UK, along with the original handbooks, Original German Log Book and a current V5C.

Finished in the original factory colour, the body has been stripped back to bare metal and completely repainted to an extremely high and detailed standard. Windows out, screen out, doors off.
There is no orange peel effect, the body re-build has been finished to a very high standard and not just filled and painted! All the body lines are in the correct format, she even has the correct chrome insert strips around the screens which I'm told most don't bother because of the extra effort involved in fitting them.
Original cabinetry, tables, upholstery, cooker, sink, fabric wrap around internal blind, original flyscreens, The canvas around the roof has been renewed.
There is no rust in this camper, the underside has also been restored and wax oiled to protect it, all wheel arches to the same.
I cannot emphasise just how nice it is throughout..... not concorse as it has retained a lot of originality but nevertheless, it is pretty exceptional throughout.
These P25'sare only going up in value at a high rate of knots and this one, because of it's condition and history will rise faster than others but what makes it extra special is the history and it's Westfalia chassis number 00001. Directly from the previous keeper who had all the restoration completed by a professional classis car restoration company.
