1986 Reliant Rialto

Here for sale is my '86 Rialto GLS Estate.
It's a former show-winning vehicle (Best in Class Medal still with the car) that was previously owned and maintained by an owner's club member who lovingly restored it and added chrome-hub wheels and new floor mats etc.
It has the coveted yellow-top engine and comes with a boot full of spares, including a full set of spare steel wheels, a folder full of history and paperwork, original Reliant Key fob, owners club badge, the original handbook and owners manual and various other bits.
During my ownership it has been driven locally and looked after, and it was running beautifully. The syncro-mesh gearbox is a treat to use, the handling is surprisingly smooth and agile, and all the electrics work as they should, aside from one headlight which I believe needs a new bulb. Unfortunately, the MOT lapsed in March of last year and since then I haven't had the chance to drive it due to other commitments. As a result, it has been sat for a while, so will likely need a new battery (and an oil change wouldn't hurt) before being MOT'd again, but everything on the car as far as I know is in good condition or will just require a minor recommissioning.

A really usable classic - this is not a half-finished 'project' as most of these are now, but rather a good car that just needs a quick recomissioning - however, its worth mentioning that these vehicles are now getting very old and very rare, so its best to be mechanically minded. It becomes MOT and Tax exempt next year, so there is that to look forward to aswell. I was thinking of keeping the car until then, but due to personal circumstances its time to move it on to a new owner who can appreciate it.

Aside from the spare wheels, gaskets, and other bits and bobs in the boot, there is also a custom-made parcel shelf, which fits over the spare wheel compartment in the back!

All the best!I'd always wanted a reliant, and when I saw this one come up for sale I knew I had to have it. Since owning the car i've barely added to the mileage and it still has remarkably low miles for its age. Its willow-green paintwork is in overall good condition, but for the few touch ups required there is even a can of colour-matched paint in the box of spares in the boot.
