Description
With the DB4, Aston Martin had finally made a name for itself in the supercar segment in the late 1950s. It was not only one of the most beautifully designed and comfortable sports cars of its time, but also a successful race car. From 1963, the DB5 successfully continued the unique symbiosis of Italian elegance (Carrozzeria Touring) and the flair of the English gentleman's driver. It achieved worldwide fame as James Bond's official car and became a cult car.
To make driving more comfortable for the rear passengers, too, its successor, the DB6, appeared just two years later. With a longer wheelbase and significantly more space, the DB6 is one of the most comfortable sports cars of its time. With only 140 units built, the convertible (Volante) is one of the most sought-after open four-seaters of the 1960s and 1970s.
This DB6 with the chassis number DBVC3624 was delivered to H. W. Motors on 10. 05. 1967 and has been in the hands of the current owner for 15 years. The rare and sought-after color scheme Platinum Grey is striking, perfectly accentuating the contours of the car. It is the original color and the machine also has the original delivery number. Only the unpopular automatic transmission was replaced by the 5-speed manual transmission.
The vehicle was regularly driven and always serviced in specialist workshops. The condition is excellent. In recent years, the DB6 has been used in numerous regularity events and Concours d'Elegance and was the winning vehicle several times (e. g. BCCM St. Moritz, Bensberg Classic, ...).
With four full-size seats, electric convertible top and power windows, a large trunk, a hidden music system with Bluetooth connection and an Odometer-calibrated trip master, the DB6 Volante is both an everyday vehicle and a collector's item!Perfect for everyday use. I always drove the car, except in winter, and there were never any major problems.
