Description
I have for sale my 2005 Fiat Punto MK2b Sporting, it's a rare model being fitted with the same 1400 16v engine as the Fiat Panda 100hp.
It also has a 6-Speed gearbox, so gets down the road well if you want it too!
It's been regularly serviced and had oil changes using genuine Fiat parts where possible, and a cambelt, tensioner and water pump was replaced a few years ago.
As unfortunately when my brother owned the car previously, a supposedly Fiat specialist mis timed the engine and damaged it beyond repair. So it had to be completely replaced with another engine, which had done around 30, 000 miles less than the our car had.
He also had the gearbox rebuilt, as 3rd gear failed which is fairly common on Fiat 6-Speed gearboxes of this era so a bit of peace of mind that won't be a worry!
Just last week I fitted a new battery as the previous one went faulty under warranty, and about 18 months ago a replacement alternator and belt was also fitted as the original alternator failed.
I've used the car regularly and it's been great for long journeys or around town, the exhaust gives quite a sporty tone too.
I replaced all the speakers in the car as they'd failed, and it's currently fitted with a Sony Xplod CD player with USB connection. However I can also refit the original Fiat CD player if you want, or can include it with the car if you prefer the Sony one.
Bodywork wise the car is great for the year, although there's marks and scratches as you'd expect for the age.
The worst being some lacquer peel to a corner of the rear bumper, and a scuff to the lower part of the front bumper both on the drivers side.
The passenger rear quarter I had repainted, as it got scratched by my dad's lawnmower annoyingly. The match is reasonable, not perfect but just wanted to point it out as it's not obvious in the photos. I'd bought the car from my brother as I'd sold my previous car, and was looking for a small hatchback. Plus I knew it'd had a good bit of money spent on it, so would be a great reliable buy for us.
It's a fun car to drive, and parking is a doddle with the city button to lighten the steering for parking!
Seats are comfortable and hold you in place well if you want to do any spirited driving, also the back seats fold down should you need to carry anything larger.
All in all a great little bit of kit, if you're after an older future classic that's rarer than the Fiesta's, 206's and Corsas etc.. of the same era.
And it's basically a Fiat Panda 100hp in Punto body shell, so a bit different as it does get looks when it's polished up and looking nice.
