Description

Very rare club sport version (1/ 70)!
Full maintenance history
Completely original

Born from the ashes of GT1 racing, the Porsche 996 GT2 emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Following the end of the GT1 class in 1999, GT2 became the premier category for GT racing, and Porsche wasted no time in crafting what can only be described as the ultimate adrenaline machine. Think of the 996 GT2 as the rebellious offspring of a 911 Turbo and a GT3. It combines the ferocious twin-turbocharged power of the Turbo with the lightweight, rear-wheel-drive agility of the GT3. The result? A car that’s raw, unfiltered, and unapologetically brutal. No traction control, no stability aids – just you, 462 horsepower, and a pair of sweaty palms trying to keep it all in check.

We are delighted to present this stunning example of one of just 70 Factory 996 GT2 Clubsports ever produced. As a first-year production model, this rare gem is finished in striking Polar Silver paintwork, perfectly complemented by a Black interior and its Factory Club Sport specification. The highly sought-after Club Sport package transforms the already fearsome GT2 into a true track-focused machine. It includes fire-resistant cloth-trimmed bucket seats, six-point harnesses, a full roll cage, external battery cut-off and a bigger fire extinguisher – all of which remain present and original to this day.

Nowadays, with the incredibly low production numbers, finding a 996 GT2 is a challenge in itself – let alone one in great condition and with low mileage. After all, many of these cars lived up to their motto: “Drive it like you stole it!”

This car, however, tells a completely different story. With just 49, 000 km on the clock, it’s like stepping into a time machine – not only in pristine, original condition but also lovingly maintained throughout its life. You’ll find that its service book is carefully stamped, and it’s accompanied by a mountain of invoices that prove it’s been pampered. The last service was completed in our specialized workshop, and as you'd expect, this car is good to go – simply hop in, turn the key, and let the driving fun begin!

And, just as you’d expect from its appearance driving this GT2 is an experience unlike any other. The twin turbos hit with enough force to rearrange your priorities, and the rear-wheel-drive chassis and manual gearbox rewards those brave enough to tame it. Good news: the car’s got a fresh set of rubber – now it’s ready to grip the road as tightly as you’ll grip the steering wheel! If you thought the 911 Turbo was the epitome of acceleration and handling, think again – the GT2 takes it to an entirely new level. Yes, there’s the added power, but with a weight of just 1440kg – 100kg lighter than the Turbo – the GT2 uses physics to its advantage. Under the hood, the 3. 6L twin-turbocharged flat-six delivers relentless power, launching the car from 0 to 100 km/ h in just 4 seconds and onto a top speed of 315 km/ h. This was, quite literally, the fastest and most powerful Porsche road car of its time. But there’s more to the GT2 than just brute force.

The suspension has been completely reworked by the factory development and lowered by 20mm compared to the Turbo, ensuring sharper handling and a more aggressive stance. Combined with the high rear wing and prominent air intakes ahead of the bonnet, the result is nothing short of sheer testosterone – a machine built with pure, unrelenting purpose.

If you’re looking for a car that gets under your skin and refuses to leave, the 996 GT2 is exactly that. Earlier often regarded as the black sheep of the GT2 lineage, the 996 has remained relatively undervalued compared to its iconic predecessors. But don’t let that fool you – it certainly doesn’t fall short! This is the next big thing! This car comes with the original Porsche leather case, all booklets, including the stamped service book, and an extensive file of invoices. Now available at Rock 'N Roll Classics.
