Description

At the beginning of 2007, I bought a complete, ready-to-drive E-Type V12 coupe, right-hand drive with automatic transmission, as a restoration object in the Netherlands (see the 2 photos on which the E-Type has not yet been dismantled). Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the leisure to finish this beautiful vehicle. I also have other "projects" that I would like to get back on the road. I have therefore decided to sell the V12 for EUR 27, 000.

What I have done so far:

- completely dismantled (except for the dashboard and electrics) and mechanically stripped, - blasted hard-to-reach areas, - the welding work was straightforward and limited to new wheel arches and the lower edge of the right-hand door, - the body was primed with 2K epoxy and the front end, the interior, boot and underbody were painted in British Racing Green (original colour), - I completely dismantled the V12 engine, cleaned it and worked on it with an engine rebuilder friend of mine in his workshop:
- the main and connecting rod bearings were renewed (the bearing race and crankshaft were measured beforehand), - all cylinders were measured, honed and pistons fitted with new piston rings, - the oil pump still looked very good in terms of wear, - the chain tensioner and running rails were renewed,
- the cylinder heads were ground flat, - the exhaust valves were renewed, all seats were ground in and pressed down, the valves were adjusted, - the carburettors were dismantled, glass bead blasted and overhauled (throttle valves incl. shafts were renewed), - the ignition system was replaced, - the ignition valves were replaced. the ignition harness, the ignition coil, the Lima regulator, all water hoses, water pipes, the cooling water expansion tank and the radiator network and the fan motors were renewed, - all engine attachments were blasted and then galvanised or painted - the engine runs!!! the front axle was blasted, galvanised and wear parts as well as the dampers and brake discs renewed, - the rear axle was completely dismantled, blasted and KTL coated, - the differential load-bearing pattern was checked and the housing painted, - all wear parts as well as dampers and springs were renewed; PU bushes are installed.

The following work still needs to be done: - the front brake callipers need to be overhauled or replaced, - I haven't even worked on the bonnet yet, the centre section has a dent at the front and the chrome frame is deformed, - the chrome parts are no longer particularly good, as are the tyres and steel rims, - the interior (bisquit) needs affection, leather grease and is then attractive again, - exterior paintwork, - completion, - replace tyres, - replace exhaust, - replace all rubber seals.
