Description
Here is for sale my 1957 Orient Red MGA. I brought this car as an unfinished project. It needed lots of missing things fitting and some small amount of metal work and paint.
It is in overall good condition, but not perfect. There are some small defects in paintwork upon close inspection. These are not visible of you are a few feet away. It starts and runs sweetly. The car was restored by the previous owner and unfortunately he past away before finishing the car. I have a letter from his wife explaining some of the work he completed. There is not much history with the car. There is the V5c, an invoice from 2018, and some recent invoices for some parts.
The drivers door fit is not perfect, please see the photographs. The doors close on the catches without issue. The price reflects this.
I would consider this car an excellent user, it is not perfect so you don't have to worry about it too much, but it is still very presentable.
If I were to do any more work to the car I would consider replacing the carpets. They are ok but could be better. Also the door trims are missing the end caps. The door trims have been attached with screws on the bottom edge as the sill panels are missing the vertical flange for some reason.
The hood is present, but slightly grubby. Personally I never use the hoods. There is a tonneau cover that could be used as a pattern but is not suitable for use. One of the threads has been stripped on the head rail and will need recutting if you are going to use the hood at speed. The side screens are in the red bag you see in the boot.
Eye bolts are fitted for harnesses if you choose to fit them. There are some old Britax harnesses in the boot that were fitted. They are quite old, I'm not sure if they should be used, but they are there should you want them.
The number plate is transferrable, but in my opinion, it would be a shame to separate it from the car.
I have tried to explain the good and the bad with the car to avoid disappointment. Hopefully I haven't put you off, just trying to be open and honest.
Viewing in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
