Description
This 1985 Renault R5 Turbo 2 is number 120 of the 200 road cars built to qualify the R5 Maxi Turbo rally car for Group B WRC competition. The '8221' homologation model was the most limited production R5 Turbo variant and came from the factory with an aluminium roof and an upgraded 1, 432cc turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine. Additional equipment included a five-speed manual transmission, Renault Sport specification Bilstein coilovers and three-piece Gotti wheels. This 8221 was federalised in 1997 by an independent importer and also received a California BAR sticker at that time.
