Description
Three owners from new, a quality renovation with a new short engine that was balanced and blueprinted including opening up main oil gallery by 1/ 16 and blocking front with plug and pressure feed oil to jackshaft keeper plate. Water pump modified, impeller modified to match inlet port. German timing chains, new sprockets. Cylinder head ported and matched. Electronic ignition fitted with spares. High capacity 3 core radiator, Evans waterless. Gearbox rebuilt with new lay shaft, bearings and cones. Overdrive modified and split ring on sun wheel pinion. The car has just had over £4, 000 spent on the heads and has been maintained regardless of cost. Great oil pressure and the sought after manual gearbox with overdrive.
The car drives extremely well having been set up on rolling road, it is very reliable and rust free with no welding or filler anywhere. It starts first time and does not smoke or rattle. The original wheels are available with the car. This car has been a delight to own but other interests mean that I cannot drive it enough. The car is well able to keep up with modern traffic and can cover a great deal of ground. The engine is a peach, the handling with the slightly wider tyres is surefooted and it does not wander on motorways. The interior is classic Stag and is in great condition.
