For Sale with a heavy heart is our beloved VW Type 25 Caravelle Campervan. We have owned and enjoyed this camper for the last 6 years and it has taken us on many adventures and never let us down!
Since owning the van I’ve carried out significant upgrades to make the van as reliable and enjoyable to drive as possible.
The van has had a full engine replacement to a 2. 0l petrol Subaru EJ Engine with all fuel and coolant lines replaced – carried out by Fellows Speed Shop (they are one of the best companies out there that deal with classic VWs engine conversions). This provides more power and reliability. This cost 5K.

The van has been serviced and MOT’d every year. There is a file full of service history. 93K Miles (circa 8K since new engine replacement).
Previous owner had the van for 5 years, and before that the owner had the van for 18 years and carried out the conversion from a Caravelle to a camper. The Carevelle has the twin sliding doors which really makes it easier to access the “Gubbings” of kitchen and other services. The internal conversion is Reimo, as is the high top elevating roof which is quite rare and were top of the line at the time (original Reimo brochure included).
Bad bits / Quirks :-
- Some signs of rust rash – not significant
- Tyres have low tread
- Internal sun visor clip broken on passenger side – still folds up
- Some scratches on alloys (not too bad)
- Van heater works but fan speed can be temperamental
