Description
1963 BSA B40 Trials Special .
Specially built frame based on the Royal Enfield Crusader , made from stronger lightweight tubing by Keith Horsman of The Star Co. back in the 1980s . Keith was a reputable trials rider and frame builder back in his day .
Forks are modified Enfield with CZ motocross stanchions and springs , hubs are Cub with ally brake plates , widened rear hub , special lightweight exhaust , custom fuel and oil tanks ( generic aftermarket fuel tank fitted at the moment ) , Amal Concentric , GB motor with nice soft piston , valve lifter , new tyres ( IRC and Michelin) , external oil filter , valve-lifter , electronic ignition , V5 "Historic Vehicle"
It's had an easy life while i've owned , not using it a great deal , preferring my twin-shock stuff and smaller BSA , however - i've looked after it well , it currently has new wheel bearings , tyres and oils .
It has got a TLR seat at the moment , but i've got Keith's original seat which goes with his beautifully homemade tank
I bought it about 10 years ago , i liked it's bespoke build and the quality of Keith'swork . it rides beautifully and always starts 1st kick - hot or cold , but I'm needing something smaller these days .
