Fantastic condition Ford Cortina 1600 Crossflow XL.
Only 38000 miles, believed to be correct.
Excellent bodyshell, has had sills replaced and minor work to jacking points done to a very good standard and repainted in 2011.
Engine starts on the key, lovely quiet sweet crossflow.
Drives excellent for a 53 year old car.
Beautiful condition original interior, it's like sitting in 5 year old car.
Previous owner went to town with minor details that make this car stand out like refurbishing the toggle switches on the dashboard,
restoring the number plates to look like new, engine and drivetrain taken off the car and painted with new gaskets where needed, and the whole underside rust proofed to protect. Finding new old stock parts where possible to replace tired old parts like the brake fluid reservoir.
The Cortina has been lowered about an inch, and the wider steel wheels give it a lovely stance.
I drove to shows scattered around Britain last year, attending Festival Of The Unexceptional, Bangers And Cash live, Rustival, and numerous more local shows to home, and the comments I have received have been great.
The car has just had a new exhaust front pipe and middle section.
I have photo's of the underside taken on the ramp when the exhaust was replaced a couple of weeks ago, so if any interested buyer would like me to send them pictures of any area of the car to prove how great the car is, that is not a problem.
