Capots Vintage, specialist in sports and classic vehicles, is offering for sale a 1955 Austin Healey 100 BN1: We are delighted to present a new Austin Healey for sale, and not just any Austin Healey! It's a very rare version: the 100 BN1 model with a 4-cylinder engine, sporting the superb Healey Blue colour combined with elegant navy blue upholstery. Donald Healey christened it 'Hundred' in reference to its ability to reach speeds of 100 miles per hour, a remarkable feat for its time, just behind the Jaguar XK120 but ahead of MG and Triumph. Delivered new in July 1955 in Yokohama, Japan, as confirmed by its British Motor Heritage certificate, this Austin Healey has benefited from a complete restoration by a specialist. Everything is in excellent condition: underpinnings, bodywork, mechanics, running gear, upholstery... Every detail has been meticulously restored. In addition, this car has 'matching numbers' for the chassis and engine, and has been modernised with improvements such as a 4-speed gearbox with overdrive, electronic ignition and a high-performance starter.
The car has also been fitted with a soft top, tonneau cover and side-screens, and has just undergone a complete overhaul in our workshops. It can be traded in for your sports car or collector's car.
